I was in my mid forties.

Or if I didnāt want the medication, to go and get surgery...
I was already struggling mentally, but hearing that just made me feel completely broken.
I felt unheard, unsupported and almost like no one cared despite my cries for help...
So I began telling myself that āthis is just how it is when you reach this ageā.
I just needed to accept that my body wasnāt ever going to look, feel or perform like how it used to.
Iād follow something to try and see change.
Iād get no results.
Iād self-sabotage when it wasnāt working, and then the cycle would repeat.
Fed up with what felt like a never-ending roller coaster - I took things into my own hands.
I knew deep within myself that there was a solution out there.

The usual advice of āeat less and move moreā didnāt work, so I tried zooming out on my entire life to see if I could find anything else.
Like most women in their mid to late 40s and 50s, I was going through menopause, so I decided to get my blood work and hormones tested just to see if I could pick up something.
The doctor had said that the stage in life I was at wouldnāt impact anything, but I didnāt want to leave any stone unturned.
